Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC)
Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) is a central dimension of the mission of Loreto South Asia, rooted in the vision and values of
Mary Ward. It calls for a way of life that upholds human dignity, fosters right relationships and promotes responsible stewardship of the Earth.
JPIC is not confined to specific programmes or activities. It is an ongoing formation process that shapes individuals to think critically, act responsibly and respond with
compassion to the realities of the world. Through this mission, students are encouraged to recognise injustice, stand in solidarity with the marginalized and actively contribute
to building a more just and sustainable society.
Across Loreto institutions, JPIC is integrated into the life of the school through
awareness programmes, classroom engagement and community outreach. Students participate in initiatives that address contemporary social concerns such as gender equality, child rights, human trafficking and inclusion. These experiences help them develop sensitivity, empathy and a sense of responsibility toward others.
Care for the environment is a vital component of JPIC. Schools undertake a range of sustainability initiatives including plantation drives, waste
management practices, water conservation efforts and Green Campus programmes. These activities not only promote ecological awareness but also
encourage students to adopt sustainable lifestyles and become responsible stewards of creation.
JPIC also fosters a spirit of peace and harmony through inclusive practices, cultural understanding and service-oriented activities. Outreach programmes to the
underprivileged, engagement with local communities and participation in social service initiatives help students experience the value of sharing, respect and solidarity.
Through a structured network of coordination at the provincial, national and zonal levels, JPIC ensures that efforts across Loreto South Asia remain
connected, collaborative and impactful. This network enables the sharing of ideas, resources and best practices, strengthening the collective mission.
Ultimately, JPIC seeks to form individuals who are not only academically competent but also socially conscious and ethically grounded. It
empowers young people to become agents of change — committed to justice, guided by peace and dedicated to preserving the integrity of
creation.
