From Margins to Dignity: Loreto’s Development Mission Across South Asia

Development Ministry

Extending Education. Empowering Communities. Loreto Reaches Out.

Inspired by the vision of Mary Ward and rooted in the values of justice, sincerity, freedom, and integrity of creation, the Development Ministry of the Congregation of Jesus – South Asia Province responds to the urgent realities of marginalized communities across India, Nepal, and Bangladesh.

From urban slums and street-connected children in Kolkata, to tea plantation workers in North Bengal, to migrant and landless communities in Nepal, and underprivileged communities in Bangladesh, Loreto walks alongside those most at risk — especially girls and women — creating pathways of dignity, protection, education, and self-reliance.
